About This Site
JenniferPilotChase.com is a tribute to a character from the late-80s show Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future. Her death wounded many of us, and some of us are only now (almost 40 years later) trying to pick up the pieces. The site is in honor of Corporal Jennifer “Pilot” Chase—not the actress (as excellent as her portrayal was), not the show per se, and certainly not the writers (you killed her, and now she’s free of you).
The site sells nothing. It promotes nothing but Jennifer’s memory. The administrator accepts no donations, gifts, or material offerings. Guests are welcome to share memories of Jennifer by emailing [email protected]. All correspondence will remain private apart from explicit consent—the administrator, unlike the writers of Captain Power, will not shoot anyone in the back.
The vignettes are original works based on Captain Power characters, written without permission or apology. If you don’t want others to write their own stories based on the worlds (and toys) you create, keep that stuff to yourself.
Images (except the phoenix) are stills from Captain Power episodes and are solely for remembering Jennifer. See www.copyright.gov/fair-use/index.html for a totally unhelpful explanation of the fair-use doctrine, including how its interpretation depends on which black-robed lawyer decides the case. (And remember: ignorance is no excuse.) The fairness and justice of copyright law almost rival what the writers of Captain Power did to Jennifer.
